Formed in the summer of 2003, Cold Filter has come a long way since its conception. Having played numerous shows throughout Western Canada, they have quickly grown a name for themselves due to their unique hard rock sound, intense live shows, tight musicianship followed by the ability to hypnotize the crowds senses with their catchy music. Their sound has definitely paid off for them and created some great opportunities for them. Reigning victorious in the Molson Canadian Band Wars; granted them a slot at the Kinsmen Rock n the Valley in Craven, SK, opening for such acts as Helix, Default, Hawksley Workman, and 54-40. Another mentionable, is the numerous after parties theyve played for Metallica, Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, Pearl Jam, and Motley Crue. Hailing from Saskatoon, SK., the 5 elements of Cold Filter are: Al Morrison (lead vocals), possibly a reincarnation of Jim, commanding center stage with powerful vocals and high energy. His left and right men, Jake Webber(lead guitar) and Brad Morrison(rhythm guitar) create sounds even the richter scale is afraid of. Each with their own influences, they produce a hybrid sound no ear could possibly ignore. Lets not forget the low end of the spectrum, Tim Arsenault(bass) complimenting the guitars with his smooth playing holding down the rhythm section with steadiness and groove, and last but not least Tallus Scott(drums). Providing that much needed punch (with sticks in his hands) leaving his drums in pieces, but ironically only to piece the song together with concrete beats, an energetic presence no drums could hide, and ultimately the backbone of the music. Cold Filter have no intentions of stopping now, with plans to record and tour to promote their first full length disc. Cold Filter looks to conquer the hard rock scene, and thus far, they havent failed on reaching any goals theyve set out for themselves.
